STATUE

Saint Maximilian M. Kolbe, OFM Conv.

Marian Martyr of Charity

PROPHET OF A CIVILIZATION OF LOVE — A faithful son of St. Francis of Assisi, so much so that many would consider him as a Francis of modern times. Such a great witness of the Catholic faith, Maximilian Kolbe would be proclaimed as the Patron Saint of the 20th Century, and a prophet of a civilization of love. What is even more telling is out of the hundreds of saints that have been canonized during the pontificate of St. John Paul II, Fr. Kolbe along with Padre Pio were the only two that he would choose to elevate their feast days to obligatory memorials of the Catholic Church.

‪"We will show the GREATEST LOVE towards the Immaculata when we share our love for her with others....We must make sure that no one removes the standard of the Immaculata from any soul."
+Fr. Kolbe‬, O.P.N

Patron saint of the 20th century

Inscribed on his arm in deep blue ink was his prison number under the Nazis: 16670. But in the ranks of heaven, his number is not far behind the Divine Prisoner Number 1."

Ven. Fulton J. Sheen

Fr. Kolbe knew how to love like Jesus... who taught him? If we entrust ourselves to Our Lady, cause of our joy, she will teach us the joy of loving like Jesus."

St. Mother Teresa of Calcutta

Saint Maximilian Kolbe is one of the greatest spiritual witnesses of the twentieth century."
